According to KXII News, in early 2026 the Sherman City Council approved construction of a new 2-million-gallon elevated water tower to replace an aging 750,000 gallon tank, the city’s first new water tower in more than a decade. The project will increase water storage capacity, help maintain stable water pressure across Sherman, and support continued residential and industrial growth. Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2026 and reflects the City’s proactive approach to long term water infrastructure planning.
